They’ve learned many of life’s hard and expensive lessons and are thankful to be in a position to now pass on their success to other Restless Boomers with the hope that many will be able to more easily chart and navigate their own prosperous, fulfilling course.
Cate
Cate is a small business owner, real estate investor, real estate broker and former appraiser. She served as accounting and commercial property manager for a large firm and has owned numerous residential and commercial properties as well as small businesses in several cities.
In the course of serving her numerous bookkeeping clients, consisting of real estate investors and small business owners, Cate has provided guidance and assistance in negotiating debt settlements with banking, mortgage and private vendor creditors which enabled many to survive the current economy, stabilize their operations, take advantage of today’s opportunities and position themselves for future growth.
Cate’s former marriage, though failed after 20 years, taught much about life, motherhood, the struggles of trying to make it work and divorce. She maintains a close friendship with the former hubby, as well as with her stepson whom she raised and who now has a son of his own.
Dieter
Also a commercial and residential real estate investor, Dieter enjoyed successful careers in automotive and railroad management with extensive leadership background, and as a general contractor’s operations supervisor.
He has made many public speeches, been interviewed on national television and holds a degree in Political Science. He studied Economics academically and in the trenches, correctly predicting and articulating the present worldwide economic crisis years before it actually began to unfold.
Dieter authors RestlessBoomers.com’s political and economic issues, informing with his unique perspective, unmatched understanding and unorthodox sense of humor regarding today’s economic, financial and political realities.
He held elective office and authored local publications during the last three decades in towns where he resided. His hard hitting reality stirred the pot, was the subject of much debate, served to enlighten those willing to accept the truth and shredded the webs that the mainstream media likes to weave.
Dieter’s former marriage of 34 years ended and sadly he was not blessed like Cate in remaining friends with his former spouse. He’s had to learn to let go of a person who, other than immediate family, has known him longer than anyone else on planet earth.

Cate and Dieter met online in early 2002, a time when online dating was new and a bit scary, especially for a couple of Restless Boomers who hadn’t dated for decades. They took it slowly, and after weeks of emailing only, met for a fun filled weekend adventure. Both knew they were meant for each other and have been together ever since.
Together, these two garner decades of hands on career and life experience common to many in our Restless Boomers demographic. They’ve been blessed with success and good health, and have also faced significant struggles through which important life lessons are learned. Life experiences, a command of history and an ability to make sense of it all, frame our weekly newsletter issues.
